As part of his take-off and re-engineering activities, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. S.N. Ukachukwu called for a two-day Solemn Assembly of University Community. The Solemn Assembly held from Thursday 19th to Friday 20th July, 2018, it was a time oF spiritual reflection and prayers for individuals & members, groups, organizations and the University in general.
The Assembly was conducted by two guest ministers of Methodist Church Nigeria, Very Rev. Godwin C. Ikechukwu, Rev. Innocent Nweke with the University Chaplain, Very Rev. O.G. Soniran.
During the sessions, deep thought were given to the activities of the University from inception, prayers of repentance, forgiveness, commitments, deduction and progress were offered. There was a general feeling of liberation for optimal achievement by all who participated.
Seeds for the MOU were planted during a march 2017 visit to Nigeria by Gallaudet President Cordano, hosted by Sir Demola Aladekomo, Board of Trustees Chair for Wesley University and cousin of Dr. Agboola, and planning intensified over the next 18 months, coming to fruition with the November 5, 2018 signing of the agreement by Prof.Sunday Ndubueze Ukachukwu, Vice Chancellor of Wesley University, Cordano,and Dagbo Suleiman Saka, President of NNAD.
Addressing the University Community at the closing session, the Vice-Chancellor expressed appreciation to the guest ministers and to all who participated in the activities. He declared that “Wesley University stands Liberated” and proclaimed that 20th July would be set aside annually to celebrate the Liberation.
