Vice Chancellor

Professor Sunday Ndubueze Ukachukwu, a specialist in Animal Science (with bias in Nutrition and Biochemistry). He is an alumnus of University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where he obtained a Bachelor of Agriculture Degree in Animal Science (1987), Masters Degree in Animal Science (Animal Nutrition and Biochemistry (1990) and Ph.D. (Animal Nutrition and Biochemistry) in 2000.

Professor Ukachukwu started his working career in 1990 at Chisam Food Industry Limited, Nsukka/Lagos but switched to academics in 1993 with a Part-time teaching appointment with the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.  He joined the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Abia State, in 1994 as an Assistant Lecturer and rose through the ranks to become a Professor in 2008.

As a versatile academic and administrator, Prof. Ukachukwu has appreciable Academic Leadership Distinctions and Awards. He had worked in various units and served in over thirty committees at the University, College and Departmental levels, including working at various times as Head of Department, Dean and as Council member.  He is a member of numerous professional bodies including British Society of Animal Science, Feed and Nutrition Network of Greenhouse Gas and Animal Agriculture, Nigeria Institute of Animal Science, Nigerian Society of Animal Production, Animal Science Association of Nigeria and Agricultural Society of Nigeria. As part of his community service, the Professor of Animal Science is a Lay Preacher in Methodist Church Nigeria and a member of Scripture Union Nigeria, among others. He is married with four children.


The University Registrar

Mrs. Chioma Chukwunenye Obasi holds the office of the Registrar. She is equiped with a Bachelor of Education Degree in English from the University of Benin and Masters of Education in Administration from Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt. She has a well grounded career in administration from different sectors of the economy. She joined the services of Wesley University as pioneer administrative staff under the provisional Council that processed the documentations and facilities towards securing the operational licence for take-off of the University and subsequently served in various capacities and units of the Registry and Vice-Chancellor’s office before her appointment as acting Registrar on October 01, 2013. She is a member of the Institute of Public Diplomacy and Management (IPDM).

The University Bursar

He assumed the post of Bursar, Wesley University Ondo on 7th January, 2014.
He became an Associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) in 1984 and a Fellow in 1998. He bagged the MBA degree, specializing in Finance and Accounting from Ogun State University in 1998. He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN). He had his professional accountancy training in Deloitte, Haskins & Sells (1973-74) and Akintola Williams Deloitte (1976-78).
From 2000 to October 2007, he was the Managing Partner of Akin Ogungbe & Associates, a firm of Chartered Accountants engaged in audit and assurance, taxation and management consultancy. He was on secondment from Multi-Trex Integrated Foods Plc, where he was General Manager, Finance and Administration, to Cocoa Industries Limited between 2007 and 2008 as the Chief Operating Officer. He subsequently went on international transfer to Zambia between 2009 and 2011 to set up Multi-Trex Agro-Allied Processing Plc as the pioneer Director/Chief Operating Officer. He was posted back to Nigeria in December 2011 as the Group Head, Internal Audit and Risk Management up till November 2013.
Akin Ogungbe was a Credit Consultant to Improvement of Cocoa Marketing and Trade Project in Nigeria (ICMT), sponsored by International Cocoa Organization, Common Fund for Commodities and Federal Ministry of Commerce. He had attended many local and international courses, seminars and workshops.
