‘’There is Ability in Disability, Professor OBEKA, Sunday Samuel tells Students with disabilities.

The Vice – Chancellor of Wesley University, Professor OBEKA, Sunday Samuel (Rt.Rev) on behalf of the Management of the Institution felicitated with people with disabilities (Deaf students) of the University on International day for people with disabilities (Deaf students).

 This took place today, December 7th, 2022 at the Senate Chamber of the University. The occasion started with an opening prayer led by Miss Anuoluwa   Ogunlade.

Professor OBEKA, Sunday Samuel congratulated the Students and advised them to always concentrate on their studies. He said, ‘‘There is ability in disability’’.  He advised them to remain   focused no matter the challenges they may encounter as students. While addressing them, the Vice-Chancellor promised that there will be no discrimination between hearing students and deaf students.  

Professor, OBEKA, Sunday Samuel with welcoming ambience, assured the students that Wesley University Ondo   will be a model University where every students, including deaf, will be comfortable. The Vice-Chancellor encouraged them that he will be meeting with them at least once in every semester.

The Vice Chancellor, Professor OBEKA, Sunday Samuel, inducted into office-members of the Executives for deaf students.

As part of the activities for the day, supporting the Vice –Chancellor, in his remark, the Ag Registrar of the University, Mr Joseph Awe said ‘’Disability is an open market where anybody could find himself  that is why we work as a team’’.

The Ag. Registrar appealed to the deaf students to work on their temperament and also ensure that they do not look down on themselves because they are   specially created by God.

Mr Godwin Agianpuye   who is a graduate assistance with hearing impairment also gave his advice at the occasion that they should stand out to compete with other students. The Ag. Bursar and other members of staff of the University also graced the occasion.
